Barcelona isn't just famous for its clubs and beaches: it's also one of the major destinations in Europe for music festivals. From late May to September, the city vibrates to the rhythm of the best international artists.
Whether you're a fan of Indie Rock, cutting-edge Techno, or Reggaeton, there's a festival for you this summer. Here is our selection of events not to be missed in 2026.
Primavera Sound Barcelona
📅 Late May / Early June 2026It's the giant. Located at Parc del Fòrum facing the sea, Primavera Sound is one of the most respected festivals in the world. The lineup is always eclectic: Rock legends, current Pop stars, and the best of Electronic and Hip-Hop music.
The vibe: Cosmopolitan, massive, musical marathon.
Sónar Barcelona
📅 Mid-June 2026The pioneer. Sónar is divided into two parts: Sónar by Day (at Fira Montjuïc) for a more "tech fair" and discovery vibe, and Sónar by Night (at Fira Gran Via) for massive raves until the early morning.
It is the essential meeting place for lovers of electronic music, digital arts, and experimentation.
OffSónar
📅 Mid-June 2026 (During Sónar)For many, it's even better than the main festival. OffSónar takes place at Poble Espanyol, an architectural village on Montjuïc hill. The biggest labels (Afterlife, Circoloco, Drumcode) organize open-air showcases there.
La French Tip: Get your tickets very early, they sell out fast.
Festival Cruïlla
📅 July 2026Also at Parc del Fòrum, but with a more local and relaxed vibe than Primavera. Cruïlla mixes genres: Rock, Latin, Hip-Hop, and Catalan artists. It's the ideal festival to enjoy music without the oppressive crowds of the giants.
Brunch Electronik & DGTL
📅 Every Sunday (Spring/Summer) + Festival in AugustBrunch Electronik is an institution in Barcelona. It happens on Sunday afternoons in the Joan Brossa Gardens (Montjuïc) with breathtaking views of the city. In August, they often organize a festival format over several days.
Where to go out after festivals?
Festivals end (late), but the night never stops in Barcelona. If you still have energy after the concerts, or if you're looking for an "Off" party:
- Opium (Port Olímpic): Perfect for after-parties if you are at Primavera Sound or Cruïlla (it's right next door).
- Input (Poble Espanyol): The reference club for Sónar/OffSónar after-parties.
- City Hall: For a techno vibe right in the city center.
